Meredith Louise Vieira (born December 30, 1953, in East Providence, RI) is the current hostess and an executive producer of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (syndicated version only). She replaced Regis Philbin in 2002; while at the helm of Millionaire, she became the second female to win an Emmy award for Outstanding Game Show Host, and she is the first (and to date, only) female to win the award twice. In 2013, Meredith left Millionaire and was replaced by Cedric the Entertainer. In addition, Meredith is best known for being the original moderator on ABC’s The View, and she also replaced Katie Couric on NBC’s The Today Show. Ann Curry replaced Meredith. (Ann was later replaced by Savannah Guthrie.) In fall of 2014, Meredith started hosting her own daytime talk show, The Meredith Viera Show.
