Occupation: Dancer, Actress, Model

Madison "Maddie" Nicole Ziegler (born on September 30, 2002), is an American dancer, singer, actress, model, and television personality.

Career

Maddie's career began when she was seven years old. Her first ever television appearance was when she competed on the CBS dance competition Live to Dance. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled and her episode never made it on the air. However, there are clips of her performing on the show online. One year later, Maddie and her mother Melissa Gisoni, as well as her younger sister Mackenzie, became regulars on Lifetime's Dance Moms; a show which focuses on young girls and their mothers across the United States to various dance competitions. Maddie made a series of television appearances during her run on Dance Moms including an appearance on the sister show, Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition and in Disney/ABC teenage oriented shows like Pretty Little Liars and Austin & Ally. Then in 2014, came the moment that really changed her life. It was the moment when pop singer/songwriter Sia Furler called upon her via Twitter to appear in her music video for her hit song Chandelier. (Sia couldn't appear in the video herself due to the fact that she never wanted her face to be exposed to the public except in press photographs in her native Australia.) Maddie appeared in the video in a nude leotard and a blonde wig (Sia was a blonde at that time), as Sia's mini-me. Maddie appeared in more videos based on Sia's songs.

In 2012, Maddie and her family made the difficult decision to leave Dance Moms. Her fellow dancers and their mothers all hugged it out in sadness and in love and wishing them good luck in the future. Shortly after, Maddie was hired to be the judge for the 13th season of So You Think You Can Dance aka So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation alongside Paula Abdul, Nigel Lithgoe & Jason Derulo.
