Charlie Tuna (b. April 18, 1944 – d. February 29, 2016) was the stage name of Art Ferguson. He was a radio personality in Los Angeles, at KRTH-FM. He even received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 10, 1990. On July 18, 2008, he was voted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
In addition to his radio work, he announced many game shows. Scrabble was his most popular show ever announced.
Tuna died in his sleep, primarily caused by complications from liver cancer, on February 29, 2016.
Tuna most recently resided in Tarzana, California, and was Tarzana’s honorary mayor from 1977 until his passing.
