Anybody Can Play was a short-lived primetime game show where players competed to answer trivia questions more quickly than their opponents.
Gameplay[]
Four studio contestants competed for cash and prizes by answering questions on a point system. The questions ranged over many subjects, from naming a celebrity to guessing song titles. Players scored ten points for correct answers, and lost five points for incorrect answers. They remained on the show for four weeks (later reduced to two), and the player with the highest score received $5,000; second place won $2,000, third place $1,000, and fourth place won $500.
In addition, viewers at home had a chance to win a jackpot of prizes that included $10,000 in cash, a vacation in Paris, a mink coat, an organ, and a home soda founntain. To qualify, they had to send in postcards predicting the player's ages, weights and how they would finish. The ten viewers with the closest guesses received the prizes, while the viewer with the closest guess won the cash.
